Is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities for Nurse Aide Program. At a minimum the related activities include instruction, instructional counseling, academic advising, serving on various committees, participating in local, state, regional and national professional activities and organizations. Completes
established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelorï¿½s Degree in Nursing
2 years of nursing experience with 3-5 years of clinical experience in teaching discipline.
1 year of nursing experience in the ï¿½ provision of long-term care facility services in a nursing facility or skilled nursing facilityï¿½.
Must have completed a course in teaching adults or have experience in supervising nurse aides.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse. Must not be listed in the ï¿½NARï¿½ in revoked status or listed as unemployable on the Employee Misconduct registry or have been found to have a conviction of a criminal offense listed in Texas Health and Safety Code 250.006ï¿½.
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): BLS-Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
