SummaryUnder general administrative direction, coordinates referrals from physicians and health care facilities for patients; provides a significant level of patient education related to their illness and planned treatment. Responsible for guiding the patients with cancer DRGs through the complex care continuum. Assures patients receive care that consistently follows evidence-based standards and is in accordance with regulatory standards as defined by the regulatory agencies. Interacts with community resources and develops relationships with service providers to enhance the patient experience and eliminate barriers to successful completion of care. Facilitates administrative activities to support the center and staff in achieving goals. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned. #LI-JH5 Qualifications: POSITION QUALIFICATIONSMINIMUM EDUCATION: Associates Degree from accredited school in NursingPREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelors of Science in NursingMINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years clinical experience in oncology nursingPREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Prior patient teachingREQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Specialty Certification as Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): ?
