South Texas Veterans Health Care System is seeking a well-qualified physician with strong leadership and interpersonal skills to serve as the Chief Medical Officer for the North West Health Care Center (NWHCC). The incumbent is responsible for the direct management and oversight of clinical and administrative operations within the NWHCC located in South Texas. The incumbent will report to directly to the Chief of Staff. The supervisory role includes the monitoring, review and assignment of healthcare providers' workload, clinical effectiveness and efficiency, coordination of work schedules and the responsibility for clinical performance measures. The incumbent works closely with other clinical leaders within the organization to ensure optimization of resources, and delivery of effective and efficient patient care. Additionally, her/his participates in administrative, management, quality assurance, and other activities, meetings or committees as necessary or assigned. This position requires a minimum of 10% direct patient care which may vary depending on the needs of the organization. Other duties as assigned by management.
