In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. Exceptions are permitted for those employees who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption.
*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.
Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster five months after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two months after the J&J vaccine.
Job Description
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) seeks a Physical Therapist at its cancer treatment centers in New York City. Our New York City facilities offer the highest standards of comprehensive cancer care in an environment designed to meet the unique needs of cancer patients and their families.
MSK is seeking to hire a full time, licensed Physical Therapist to join our outstanding team of rehabilitation professionals. Physical therapy experience in an adult outpatient setting is desired. Lymphedema certification and/or experience treating lymphedema preferred. Pelvic floor experience preferred. At MSK, we offer world class training within our rehabilitation service focusing on opportunities to develop innovative, therapeutic programs for a diverse patient population. Our highly talented team assists patients throughout their continuum of care focusing on improved quality of life, overall function and independent management as needed. We are looking for an individual passionate about patient-centered treatment, teamwork, and best practice which results in an exceptional patient experience. Attention to detail, dedication to individualized care, and participation in a team approach is what MSK therapists provide with each interaction.
You will:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and reassessments of rehabilitative needs. Based on assessment findings, develop individualized patient goals and treatment plans.
- Provide highly skilled physical therapy to adult patients in an oncology setting utilizing evidenced-based therapeutic interventions to maximize patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members, including the patient and their family, to ensure the highest level of clinical services are provided and experienced throughout the entire episode of care.
- Participate in mentorship through various teaching and learning opportunities.
- Engage in projects and activities to advance professional development and that support and advance institutional and departmental mission and goals.
You are:
- Flexible with strong time management/organizational skills
- Effective in verbal and written communication including computer skills
- Detail and team oriented
- Invested in mentorship both in learning and sharing of clinical knowledge
You have:
- New York PT license required
- Doctorate of Physical Therapy (tDPT or DPT) is preferred
- Outpatient and/or oncology experience strongly preferred
- Lymphedema certification and/or experience treating lymphedema preferred.
- Pelvic floor training and experience preferred.
Facility Hours of Operation: 7:00a-6:30p
Days / Times: Monday-Saturday (subject to change)
