In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. Exceptions are permitted for those employees who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption.
*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.
Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster five months after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two months after the J&J vaccine.
Job Description
We Are:
We are looking for an Associate Director, Medical Informatics to join our Digital Informatics and Technology Solutions team. In this role you will assist the Associate Chief Health Informatics Officer in leading MSK's digital transformation efforts from a clinical perspective. Support the integration of core clinical information systems with other next generation digital tools and systems for clinicians being developed or procured at MSK.
You Are:
- Eager to partner with the clinical staff and the Informatics leadership/organization to ensure Informatics and digital capabilities align to physician needs and priorities
- Able to communicate and collaborate across different external teams and partners and influence accordingly to assure mandates are being met.
- Adept at instilling confidence in and commitment from the extended team, and senior leadership.
You Will:
- Work with technology and product teams to advocate for and solution on behalf of clinician end-users to first prevent, and when needed mitigate, unnecessary and unintended workflow disruptions for product solutions
- Assist the Clinical & Logistics Platform Manager in defining a strategy around improving clinician experience in adopting and using core clinical information systems
- Establish interim, transitional, and long-term solutions; work with technology, product, and training teams to ensure appropriate frequency and content of communications, education, and training as needed to de-escalate disruptive workflows and patient safety concerns
- Ensure core clinical information systems support safe and high-quality care in collaboration with our Division of Quality and Safety
You Need:
- Track record of delivering results
- Proven history of partnering with clinicians
- Strong ability to organize and influence diverse stakeholders
- 3+ years of work experience in clinical informatics or formal informatics training
- Advanced degree in medicine (i.e., MD, DO, NP, PA, etc...) plus
