Only specific positions are eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Emergency Department: Incumbent is responsible for working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and discuss concerns and issues of an ED patient with family. Medicine Rehabilitation RN provides quality rehabilitative care and training to Veterans with orthopedic conditions, amputations, traumatic brain injuries, neurological conditions, PTSD, and acute stress disorders for evaluation, rehabilitation, and follow-up care. Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Serves as the RN Team Leader for a team of patients with the support of a LPN and/or HT in the delivery of care for Veterans with spinal cord injuries and neurological disorders. Perform tracheostomy care, colostomy and bladder irrigations, transport of patients, application and removal of complex assistive/adaptive equipment, pressure injury/ulcer dressing changes. Provides complex care planning for Veterans with varying levels of spinal cord injuries (inclusive of Ventilator Dependent) and other neurological orders. Domiciliary Coordinates medical and behavioral care for MHRRTP residents for care both internal and external to the program, milieu management activities, oversight of LPN and NA activities, completing screenings for Veterans requesting to admit to MHRRTP, and providing administrative support when needed. Works in partnership with the patient to create a treatment plan, monitor progress, and provide support for the patient as need. Inpatient Mental Health (2G): Evaluates the patient's progress towards the desired outcomes and revises the plan of care and interventions as necessary. Delivers safe basic care to assign patients while developing technical competency's. Intensive Care Unit/Critical Care Unit: Member of the Rapid Response Team (RRT) and Code Blue Team and is required to maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Provides after hours post-operative recovery care to patients, when appropriate. Provides critical care to both surgery and patient populations. Step Down Unit (SDU): Demonstrates accurate and timely documentation of patient care according to the Standards for ICU, Step-Down, Observation, and Acute patients. Provides intermediate level care to patients who require more frequent monitoring. Medicine/Surgery Clinic: Utilizes a patient and family centered approach, manage and coordinate high risk patient care in collaboration with Primary Care licensed independent providers, Care Managers, specialists, and other supportive disciplines through referral. Provide disease specific intense management of illness exacerbation and progression through use of evidentiary standards of care. Nurse of the Day (NOD): The Nursing Officer of the Day (NOD) is responsible for the management of patient flow, patient staffing and critical problem solving in lieu of Associate Director Patient Care during non-administrative hours, weekend and holidays. Uses past experience as ICU/ED Charge Nurse/Management official to provide oversight and decision making. Blind Rehabilitation: RN provides quality rehabilitative care and training to Veterans with orthopedic conditions, amputations, traumatic brain injuries, neurological conditions, PTSD, and acute stress disorders for evaluation, rehabilitation, and follow-up care. Community Living Center (CLC) The RN will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively apply all aspects of the nursing process.
