Is your goal to be an Emergency Nurse?
The aim of this comprehensive 26-week program is to successfully transition the novice nurse into the role of an emergency nurse. Integrated within the residency are a combination of clinical hours, online coursework, classes on specific emergency care topics instructed by experts in many disciplines from throughout AHS, state and local agencies, skills labs, and clinical specialty rotations. This program will help prepare the novice nurse to function independently in the emergency care environment and eventually become nationally certified as an Emergency Nurse.
The Emergency Nurse Residency Program is available throughout Atlantic Health System. Non-BSN graduates will be required to complete their BSN within five years of employment. All participants are asked to agree to a two-year employment commitment at Atlantic Health System.

Essential Job Functions:
The candidate will have the ability to utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for all levels of emergency patients served
Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced-based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families
The candidate will demonstrate and embrace the PRIDE core values in every aspect of their role
The candidate must have excellent communication and computer skills
Qualifications:
Ideal candidate:
A recent graduate from an accredited nursing school who is eligible to sit for New Jersey Board of Nursing RN licensure
Clinical experience as a Patient Care Technician, Emergency Medical Technician preferred but not required
BSN preferred but not required
Responsibilities
This one year program was created to build a solid foundation for your nursing career. The program includes classroom, unit-based preceptorship and mentorship dimensions while focusing on the continuum of care provided by Atlantic Health System medical experts.
The Hire Learning Residency Program is available throughout the System and available positions vary from unit to unit and site to site, based on our unit needs and position availability. Non BSN graduates will be required to complete their BSN within 5 years of employment. All participants are asked to agree to a 2 year employment commitment at AHS.
An official transcript and two letters of recommendation from nursing instructors will be required once you are in the interview process.
