The Paul W. Seavey Comprehensive Internal Medicine Clinic on the main campus of Emory University is seeking highly qualified Internal Medicine physicians for careers in Academic Internal Medicine and Primary Care to start summer 2023. The Seavey Clinic is a unique endowed entity which combines the highest quality of outpatient comprehensive patient care, as well as protected and supported academic time, to include any combination of teaching, research, process improvement/innovation and scholarship. The ideal candidate will be seeking a career in academic internal medicine and be engaged in high quality, personalized and attentive care, as well as be self-motivated and engaged in long term professional growth and career development. Endowment funding is available for compensated protected time for academics, as well as a support system including a data analyst, research coaching and start-up/pilot project funding. Clinical education of medical students and academic growth are expected. The team is supported by a clinical pharmacist, pharmacy students and residents, clinical psychologists, a dietician and a health educator. This is a unique role which blends the best of primary care and academics.

Details:

* Full time, 1.0 FTE outpatient faculty position with 1 session (1/2 day) clinical administrative time and a minimum of 1 session supported academic time (8+1+1). Part time positions will be considered with prorated adjustment of benefits and clinical administration time.

* 4 Weeks paid vacation and 1 week CME. Subsidy for CME, Up To Date subscription, laptop computer and modest subsidy for teaching activities to supplement travel and professional activities. Night call for own patients during the week (minimal) and shared weekend/holiday coverage - approximately 1 in 10.

* Unique position in an endowed Academic Internal Medicine practice, emphasizing faculty and career development as well as supported time and resources for education, research, scholarship and academic promotion.

* Likelihood of formally named endowed position, either Named Distinguished Clinician or Named Professorship subject to metrics and availability.

* Emphasis is on outstanding comprehensive internal medicine care in a combination of clinical sites, including the General Internal Medicine Teaching Practice, Executive Health and/or Special Diagnostic Clinic.

* Required, but supported academic advancement through Service, Teaching, Research and Scholarship.

* Assumption of partial practice of retiring physicians, as well as new patients.

* Strong potential for academic growth and leadership opportunities.

* Very attractive salary potential, partly productivity, partly through endowed support.
