If so, a position as a Pre-Sample Preparation Technician within our animal house team at our site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire could be the role for you.
This role will be 70% office based, with 30% of your time based in the lab.
In this position, you will:-
Prepare sample tracking forms for studies to be performed within the unit.
Perform any combination of sample preparation tasks, including centrifugation, pipetting, and addition of reagents.
Handle incoming samples from Animal House Operations, Necropsy and Pharmacology.
Have a responsibility to conduct all work in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, and specifically those regulations (GLP) specified in the study plans, protocols, or work agreements governing the work in which they are involved.
Be able to exercise judgment in the receipt of samples where discrepancies have occurred, highlighting to responsible personnel, or resolving as they occur.
Be able to adapt techniques to new procedures.
Plan individual workload in collaboration with team members so that deadlines are met.
Effectively schedule multiple assigned tasks.
Demonstrate a knowledge and use of data systems - Nautilus, CMS (Covance Management System) etc
Demonstrate effective communication skills and liaison with Technical Leads, Supervisors, Study Directors, and other members of staff within the department and from other departments.

To be successful in this role, you will:
Hold a minimum of 5 GCSE?S A*-C including English and Maths
Ideally, have some previous practical laboratory experience in a similar environment
Have good communication skills and an ability to work within appropriate company procedures
Have the ability to utilise word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and specialised software on personal computers.
