POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Title: 3844- DHTS IT Analyst - Business /Systems Analyst
Primary Role: This position reports to the DHTS-Data Partnerships Director of Data and Analytics Platforms. This individual will be primarily responsible for IT Service Management, System Compliance and Platform Lifecycle Management of the Duke Data Hub platform (data lake) and Federated Clinical Analytics Platform (FCAP) and drive the sourcing of new data modalities into those platforms.
The candidate should be skilled in ITIL service, incident, problem, and change management, creating and maintaining system documentation in support of audit and compliance reviews, and managing requirements and development team activities in the creation of quality solutions.
The Business / Systems Analyst will be a member of a Data Engineering Scrum team that is delivering solutions focused on using state of the art cloud data and analytics tools including traditional and near real-time data warehousing, big-data, relational and document-based databases using both extract, load, transform (ELT) toolsets as well as REST APIs and FHIR.
Essential Tasks/Responsibilities
Document all platforms and configurations, and execute system reviews and test plans as required by internal and external compliance and audit groups
Evaluate Duke clinical systems that hold data that are desired to be included in the platformsand work with the application owners and the solutions architect to design and document the data flows and required compliance documentation to perform extracts of the data
Translate service requests and incidents entered by our partners and internal customers into work items and track those work items to completion
Manage change requests through the DHTS change management process coordinating with cross functional groups through the build, test, and implementation phases
Support the Data Partnerships QA team to ensure high quality in delivered products and services
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, or four years of equivalent technical experience required
Required Experience: We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of experience in aBUSiness / Systems Analyst role who hasthe following experience:
Experience in Healthcare IT
Experience in exploring, diagraming, and documenting systems integrations
Intermediate working SQL knowledge and experience working with a varietyof RDBMSs
Working in an agile development team in delivering multiple complex solutions; preferably using the Scrum Framework
Using an application lifecycle management platform for managing development team work, such as Azure Boards, ServiceNow, GitLab
Creating system documentation, release notes, and testing documentation in support of regulated solutions
Performing root cause analysis on internal and external processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
Supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
Strong project management and organizational skills
Desired Skills:
Azure Cloud certifications
Working experience with the FHIR specification
